Year 2 have been looking at different types of food in science and healthy living. As part of their work they tasted different fruits and evaluated them. Some of the children were tasting some fruits for the first time especially figs and apricots. Strawberries were definitely the favourite in both classes. After the fruit tasting the children then worked in groups to make a healthy fruit smoothies. The children chose what went into their smoothies. They had different combinations of milk, banana, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. The children worked together to chop the fruit and put into the blender carefully before enjoying their smoothie. There was lots of licking lips after they had enjoyed their smoothie.
