Fruit fun!

Year One have been learning the story of Handa's Surprise this half term and have come across some very different fruits.  A girl called Handa packs seven delicious fruits in a basket to take to her friend Akeyo; 1 banana, 1 guava, 1 orange, 1 pineapple, 1 mango, 1 avocado and 1 passionfruit. Along the way, a series of cheeky, sneaky animals steal her fruit. Ask your child what happens next!

We decided that it would be exciting to explore some more exotic fruits, so we asked Mrs Barber if she could order us some to look at.  When they arrived, we sketched them, painted them and felt them but there was one thing we still wanted to do...

Of course Mrs Hunt made us wash up afterwards. At the time of going to press, Mrs Hunt was hiding from the cleaners 😣😜
