Six lucky pupils had their taste buds set alight today when they joined Mrs Barber and Mrs Smith at a food tasting session at Macclesfield College's Silk Restaurant.
The college students, as part of their Event Management BTEC course, were tasked with delivering both a fine dining menu and one suitable for school meals. With forks and feedback sheets at the ready, the pupils tucked into a variety of foods including chilli, spicy chicken wraps, cous cous, spicy duck, salmon sushi, panna cotta and the most delicious flap jack ever. As well as tasting the food, the children had to rate it on how it looked, how it could be improved, if they would eat it again and, in the case of the fine dining, if they would buy it.
A fantastic time was had by all judging by the many empty plates and full tummies! Well done to all the pupils for being such excellent ambassadors for Parkroyal and to Macclesfield College for looking after us so well.
