London - day 3 - 'Home again' 😀☹️😴

6:30  'Wake up, it's a beautiful morning'

The Lea Valley is quiet and still, interspersed by the joyful chirrup of a blackbird, and the merry chatter of the 6:03 from Cambridge.

Breakfast is 7:30 for another early start, so children will be up, getting dressed, packing their things and tidying up (in some kind of random order, be prepared for missing socks...) in a short while.

It's a lovely morning over the Lea Valley lakes and marshes.

9:30 Football's coming home

Mr Utteridge is getting all maudlin about the bread pudding and football pitches of home

9:50 Park life

We've arrived at the Olympic Park. As Mr Utteridge recites a few Hammers' chants, we pull up and are met by our guides for the day, Sarah and Danielle. Loving the free Wi-Fi....

IMG_2241.JPG

Our first stop is London's most famous 'hyperbolic paraboloid' or Pringle. It's the Olympic velodrome, scene of some of the most breathless excitement of London 2012, with the cycling events.

"And Team Parkroyal lead the World Team Pursuit championships, with Savage, Kendrick and Sinden following 'lead-out' Utteridge...Close those gaps!". Sorry, drifted off there for a moment...

London is a long way behind us and the misery of the endess highway is lightened a little by some 'serious jockin' (no G) from DJ UTT.
