Advice from the school nurse
There have been a number of cases of head lice reported in school. Our school nurse has provided us with the following advice for parents and carers
- Please check your child's hair regularly, ideally every time their hair is washed.
- Use a fine toothed head lice comb to brush through your child's hair at least every 4 days.
- If you find any live head lice, please treat with an appropriate solution from the pharmacy.
- Continue to comb regularly even if you have applied a treatment - the lice have a 4 week cycle.
- Please ensure that if your child's hair is shoulder length or longer, that it is tied back in school at all times.
Macclesfield Half Marathon and 5k Community Challenges
This year, schools have been invited to take part in a new community challenge at the Macclesfield Half Marathon and 5K.
Along with other schools in the area, we are looking to get together a team/teams to enter these exciting races, support three local charities, maybe improve your fitness and all importantly, have fun too! All the money raised by the races will be donated to East Cheshire Hospice, Rossendale Trust and Space4Autism.
There are 3 separate challenges
Active Macc - for sports and exercise clubs and community groups from across Macclesfield
Corporate - for Macclesfield businesses, large and small
Schools - for school pupils, parents, staff and governors
In each challenge there will be prizes for:
Best team in the Half Marathon (3 finishers to count)
Best team in 5k (5 finishers to count)
Organisation entering the most participants
Best team in fancy dress
