Gardening Club -Week 1

Our green-fingered year 3 and 4 children met today for the first time to begin gardening club.  We started by doing a full audit of the grounds and equipment so that we could make a plan.

The children took turns in using the iPad to capture images of the current grounds at Parkroyal. There are already lots of lovely areas set up by Mrs Napier, Mr Beresford and Mr Durrant so we have big wellies to fill!

These planters brighten up the school.

The gardening club will need to decide what they want to plant and where,  what to clear away and what just needs a tidy-up.

We need to replant some things into better pots.

Mr Robinson has lots of ideas of how to 'upcycle' things that we already have around school, like these branches.

We could use these for a new insect hotel or as growing supports.

We looked in the greenhouse, shed and behind the hedges to check for equipment.

We found all sorts of tools and pots!

When we had finished outside, the children all wrote down one idea they'd had on our 'Audit Walk'.

 Lots of fantastic ideas.
