We are an emotionally Healthy School
Character, emotional health and well-being are vital to the development of young people. We are part of the Emotionally Healthy School programme which brings together colleagues from education, health and the voluntary sector to support educational establishments in Cheshire East with a view to improving emotional and mental health education for young people and their families.
Parkroyal Community School is proud to be one of the lead schools for this programme. We have developed a whole school approach to the emotional health of staff, pupils and parents, some of which is not a 'bought' approach or an 'intervention' but something we would find difficult to bottle if we could. It is a deeply embedded ethos in our school, one which visitors often refer to as the 'feeling' they get as they view or engage in our school; a feeling of warmth, happiness and a community of nurturing, caring staff.
Our school's journey of embedding emotional well-being has taken time and commitment from everyone. We continue to explore how we can support our pupils and school community in order for our pupils, staff and parents to acquire the skills and experience they need. We want to build on our pupils' ability to apply themselves to tasks, to develop their self awareness and direction as well as self control and confidence.
